Getting into college is no small feat, and for one young woman with Down syndrome, it was a goal she hadn’t stopped thinking about since the moment her brother went off to school.

Wanting to experience the excitement of a college acceptance letter for herself, 20-year-old Rachel Grace worked tirelessly to send out college applications that highlighted her many strengths. After graduating from high school, Rachel applied to four colleges, but one stood out to the determined young woman and her parents — East Stroudsburg University.

After months of waiting, an envelope arrived from ESU that changed everything. After carefully reading the letter, Rachel beamed with excitement. She got into her dream school!
